Views and Comments on Vexilar Fl12 ultra pack?

thinking about buying one but wanting some others opinions. Fl 20 is too expensive. just want to get something in the middle
any opinions would be great!

I would get something with a zoom feature if you fish bottom hugging fish like walleyes/perch.  FL-18 genz pack are right around 400 at fleet farm right now and I think you get a gift card if you spend so much.

I just upgraded to an FL 20 Pro Pack from a FL 8. A buddy of mine has the FL 12 he has had great luck with it.

I bought a fl12  a couple years ago . I have a 19 transducer which works great for me . I fish mostly lakes 30' or less and ponds . I fish for crappie and gills , but get what works best for you. Vexilar has many different upgrades you can do later on.

Spend the same ammount of money and get a marcum LX-3tc. The fl-12 is just an Fl-8 with a flat screen and low power mode. Made the switch from vex to marcum this year and will never go back. Far more features for the money

I'm for the fl-18 I love the zoom on the bottom view I have a fl-8 and fl-12 and for the money the 18 is the best stay safe everyone now that we have warmer weather on the way

Having used a vex, marcum, and hummingbird on the ice, IMO the hummingbird is still lagging behind some.

A Vexilar or Marcum are both great choices.  I would also recommend a zoom feature.  I feel the Vexilar is a little more user friendly, but this is all personal preference.

I have a 35 hummingbird and it works exelent for what i do. The only thing i wish for is a backlight on the depth readout. I heve fished with a fl-18 also and apples to apples for the money the bird is hard to beat. Has the zoom and all in all i think its a little simpler to operate
