Went yesterday to plow the drive and brought a load of firewood for Derby weekend. I didn't fish but did drill a hole 100 feet off shore, 13" of ice. Didn't see anyone out there and a lot of camps along the North Shore were empty. This is in Chase cove by the way.

Forgot to mention slush is on the lake, about first 60-70ft from shore was slush about 14" deep. Where I drilled was solid ice though, no pockets.

14 inches of slush, you might have a long wait for that to freeze if it freezes at all. @)

I'm headin up there in a few weeks. The togue that come out of there seem to be very nice looking fish. Has anyone had any luck with salmon up there?

I fished up there two weeks ago in Chase Cove. At the time the ice was only about 4" thick and there was plenty of slush in front of camp. Fishing was slow but we managed a few lakers and a brook trout. Can't wait to get back up there.

Headed over in a few minutes. If your over that way and see a black Frabil portable stop and say "hi".
If you fish the wrong lure long and hard enough it will eventually become the right lure!
