well I went out today and set up several tipups with minnows and caught a few pike.  Most of the trout I caught were on minnows and they loved em!  Thanks anyways!

MINNOWS?

If you don't know the rules you need to get the free booklet at the sporting goods store or Walmart. Most people don"t know Minnows are illegal above 7000 feet on the Front Range to the Continental divide and the whole western slope.

You could be fined quite a bit for that.

I hope they were dead minnows. No live bait on mountain lakes in Colorado. Try waterdogs for pike. They are legal.

Not trying to bust your chops, but not only are live minnows illegal above 7,000 feet, so are "several" tipups if you were alone. One line per angler unless you purchase a second rod stamp, then its two lines.

The State Park Rangers and or Division Of Wildlife would love to give you a hefty ticket for those minnows and multiple lines in the water!

;D  I was obviously joking to give this thread a jump start!  Thats why I said "several tip-ups" and minnows because its pretty obvious its illegal.   :P

Well, I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt (dead minnows, more than one person).  My suggestion is that you had better come up with a new name for this forum because no one will read any more EggSalad posts.

Of all the fishing forums that I've been on, this one has the most integrity and consistency year to year.

Please don't do this again.

I doubt you were joking. Think you got caught with your pants down and trying to use the joke theme to back-peddle. Like _colorado said, this forum has integrity, don't try to bring it down to your level.

I apologize for my ignorance but after reading the manual it seems like you can use minnows, chubs, etc. as long as they are dead? Is this correct?

Interesting that we protect an introduced species for the purists.... Really,...rainbow,German brown.... Gee, I wonder where they came from? Are we protecting an introduced species at the sake of a
native species because it's not so pretty? I've never seen a sucker in 11 Mile, yet if I were to set a minnow trap in 11 mile and get a few and try a live sucker at The Mile, heaven forbid!!! You used a
native LIVE species to catch an introduced species!, shame on you!

Well then you would be wrong.  Jumping to conclusions shows no signs of integrity.  Please dont respond like this again.  This forum doesnt need to be brought down to your level again.
