I have the Mag2000 10-1/4". It doesn't seem like I'm getting enough RPM's to effectively(smoothly) cut holes.
Is there a way to increase the throttle? Any other ways to get more out of it?
I've already replaced the blade, so I know it's not the sharpness of the blade.
I realize that the diamater of the drill itself is kind of big for the 2HP motor.(I got a deal on it!)
Replacing the drill with a smaller one is cost prohibitive(if you can find one.). I thought about having a piece made at a machine shop that would allow me to use the bottom of my 8" lazer hand auger. It would be like the extension attachment, but have the proper sized male end. Why wouldn't this work?
I just feel I'm working way too hard to cut holes with a power auger. Isn't the whole reason to have one to cut many holes with the least posible exertion? This unit isn't working that way. It's almost(but not quite)as much work as cutting holes by hand.
Any help to increase my hole cutting efficiency would be appreciated.
