Missoula area fishing
« on: Jan 08, 2012, 09:27 PM »
Hey all, I'm new to the area and have caught the ice fishing bug, but being new to the area I don't know anyone here.  Lately my fiance and I have been going out, but she doesn't always want to go.  So if anyone ever needs someone to go fishing with let me know. Im available most weekend and Friday afternoons.  Have a boat so when the ice thaws can do some trollings!

I'm guessing your species of choice is trout? or do you fish for whatever is biting? I'm always looking for ppl to fish with but keep losing them to the ski slopes or sitting at home w/ a thumb in their butt. Neither are appealing to me. So if you're a multi-species fisherman, I may be down for an ice fishing trip one of these weekends. Let me know.

Well my favorite species is steelhead, but since I moved over here from Idaho in Sept. I haven't been.  I don't really care what I catch as long as I'm fishing I'm happy.  I might hit up beavertail Friday afternoon if your interested.  Off work at noon!

Salmon Lake can be hot at times for pike, and some big ones.  Let me know how Beavertail is.  Been wanting to go there myself

I tried salmon a couple of weeks ago for pike but it was slow. Had one bite but never a hook up. Then again pike fishing is all new to me.  I'll let you know how beaver tail is if I make it out there this weekend. Let me know if you will be out there!

Just made a bunch of jigs, excited to get out and try them! Pretty sure I'll be making it to Beavertail this Friday if anyone else will be out there.

Fished it last Sunday for a few hours just for something to do. Ice was variable, stIll lots of open water in front of the boat ramp. Fished 18' of water and had steady action at 10'.
