Blacks Creek
« on: Jan 10, 2012, 05:13 PM »
I doubt the ice is thick enough or there may not be any at all but there was some perch stocked in there several years ago. I was just wondering if anyone had any info or have fished that mud hole? Been dark the last few time I drove by but once this fall it looked like it was even lower then past several years even though it did actually get a little water in it this spring. May have to take a drive out there or even out to Indian Creek.

I think that is the one hit by vandals this summer. When they went to shut off the irrigation, the head-gates were damaged and it couldn't be shut before the water all drained out.

Boy what is this world coming to? That explains why the water was hard to see from the road. Thanks for the info.

Last I heard, there was an investigation centered around a farm hand who worked for one of the downstream landowners. Anyone know if they got anywhere? It sucks knowing that vandals destroyed the fishery, but it sucks even more if it was someone trying to get every last drop out of the reservoir by draining the minimum pool for a few more days of irrigation. ...

The initial news reports said it happened earlier in the summer, and no one noticed it until they went to shut it off. I haven't seen any updates since then.
