i mostly fish Lake Winnebago all year round, in the winter all we can ever find is perch and bluegill. i just started ice fishing a few years ago. Would like to get a few walleyes this season. any tips or strategies on where to find them will be good? ??? ???

sounds like you are fishing bays and closer to shore?...You have to get out in the deeper water in the mud. Aywhere from 1/2 mile out to 5 miles out. I usually fish anywhere from garlic island  to black wolf and anywhere in between... Cover lots of water. Leave the tip ups at home. Drill a hole for each guy that is along and fish there for about 20 mins. If you dont ice a fish move. Sometime you can move 100 yds other times I wll move a mile or two...We will sometimes move 15-20 times a day...Becareful around the cracks and bridges.

thanks alot! we find alot small schools of perch and thats about it. we have fished just about everywhere between fond du lac and oshkosh. would really like to get my first walleye through the ice this year. bought a vexilar this year so im sure that will help alot to find some fish.

having a flasher will help ALOT!!!! try fishing straight out from the river....Fish the edges of the groups out there and even try going out into no mans land away from them. I spend 99% of my time in no mans land. Just be sure to stay away from the river.
