Lubricating poles?

What is the best sliding pole lubrication method? Parrafin wax? Pledge? Oil? Silicone spray? Suggestions?

I want to reduce freeze-up and make everything operate smoother.

I use Turtle Wax.  I slather it on and slide the poles a bit to get it worked in.

Shanty poles I'm guessing? Car wax works good.

I'd use Armor-All protectant. Spray on/wipe off. One application should cover a whole season.

I use silicone spray and back the area up with newspaper to prevent over spray.

Got 'er right, Dawg. Me too. I hit the zipper at the same time. Overspray won't harm the fabric and helps water to slide right off.

Same stuff I use to keep my boots water proof.
