Looking for some information anyone might have on Ice fishing at Twin Lakes. Looking to go fishing on the 28th of Dec  ;D. Wondering if anyone has heard of conditions ie. Ice thickness (if any) and catch reports. Thanks.

Check North IDAHO ice posts.  Sounded like good perch and ice at upper twin.

There was a report on another forum of someone who was able to get on the ice at Condie, so maybe Twin Lakes is frozen too?

the ice is good, 8-10 inches on sunday the 1st just be carefull entering the ice, edges in places are a little sketchy, take a spud if ya got one and as far as pan fish, good luck I am trying to find them myself, I picked up a few here and there today but nothing like it should be, or use to be, had to weed through the trout to get to the pan fish

I went there today. The fishing was pretty slow. Got a decent trout that i am cooking up right now. I caught 2 small perch. I talked  with several people and  they all had about the same luck. A few little pan fish here and there but the big ones are not biting. Hopefully it picks up soon.

tail chaser I was at twin lakes on the second, which lake were you on? I hit the south or the back lake and only got 2 perch and 1 gill but probably 50 trout spent all day out there looking for a good gravel or mud bottom and never really found one, kinda thinking about next time going back by the south dam and checking that out, where about did you fish?

I believe I will be out there again on Friday for the most of the day searching for that good gravel bottom that's eluding me once again seems like the weed beds change every year, but then again it's been 3 years since I have fished twin lakes, if you make it out I will be in a black dodge Dakota parked at the south lake boat ramp

I don't think that I will make it out this weekend. If I do, I have black dodge that usually has 2 dog crates in the back. If you make it out let us know how the ice is holding up, good luck.

Thanks guys for all the posts. Got tied up in work and haven't replied. Made my trip on the 28th of dec and had about the same luck as most. Lots of trout but no panfish. Lost a pole when a fish pulled it in. Heard from an oldtimer that fishing for bluegill only successful early in the morning on the north side of the island. the ones he had were good size.  He also had crappie? Anyone else heard of that? Looking to head out this weekend. Either twin lakes or condie not decided yet. But anywhere will be fun.

I caught some nice crappie this fall out of there. I  am still trying to get on a good school of active panfish. I am still pondering where I will  try this weekend. I will either be  at Twin Lakes or Alexander.

be careful near the island and by the dam, there was a small amount of open water there about a week and a half ago. try closer to the east shore, i saw a bunch of nice perch move through on my camera, but couldn't get any to bite. maybe you'll have better luck.

take pictures!

Just got home from fishing twin lakes, south lake, just behind the island. Fished with #oneicehole. Caught 8 or 9 12 to 13 inch trout from 10  to 40 yards from shore, no keepers and no perch which was what i was after. Be careful on the channel between the 2 lakes,  ice is thin, maybe 4 to 5 inches, over 12 every where else, and there is running water on the west bank on the north side of the channel. Was about 20 yards from a guy who lost his 4 wheeler through the ice. He jumped off before it fell completely through. So be very careful on the edges near the channel.

I will find the perch and crappie, just gotta spend more time finding them, didn't find them today, but next weekend when I have the time I will find them I swear I will, I know they are there, just not where they are, and I am thinking of burning the Xmas tree for a sacrifice to the ice gods
