Froze over tuesday night but thin ice still.  I will be out there friday afternoon and on the weekend, I expect adequate ice by fri/sat.  youngs lake nearby is froze with several fishermen on it, according to local legend BIGJIM223.

Hopefully she treats us all a little better this year. Last year was tough, but we managed to get into the perch a few times.
I thank God for everything in my life. But I especially thank God for ice.

20s during the nights, I think we'll keep if not gain a little ice despite the possible 40s during the day - remember it only hits 40 for an hour or two at most, and thats assuming the typical NW wind here doesn't cool it down.  Cando is always  5-10* lower than whatever the tv/weatherman says it will be.  Now, if we get that possible 40* rain thats another story...

quote- "according to local legend BIGJIM223"

Local Legend? I thought that was you Ryan! I was told, by a very reliable source- did not get to Cando this afternoon- that there were fishermen out there today. Young's Lake had a bunch of guys on it around 11:30. Did not stop there either. Sometimes even I have to work!

Know those boys well, they caught almost 1/10th as many fish as me!  Fished shallow waters of Cando today, and do not recommend travel on the ice.   50 ft from shore, in less than 5 ft of water, I had less than 2 inches of ice.  Anywhere there was a good sized rock or pile was open or thin ice.  With the 30s tonight and 40s tomorrow the lake will open up.  Youngs lake nearby should hold decent ice through the weekend.  seeya out on youngs.

I been tryin to bring out a big tiger my whole life, caught my first last summer, was only about 26" but at least its a start.  Ill tell the boys you're still around, flanny ice fishes the lake quite a bit with me, and you'd be welcome to come with any time.

tough to just target eyes in drago. jigging for perch and you got a chance at the eyes.

just be safe not sure what tonight/tomorrows weather will bring but if its a heavy snow it could be bad if they get too much.
