Are you talking about the newer solo engines or the Tecumseh engines from a few years back?

I believe the legend series is just upgraded versions of the other models....different paint, mitten grip starter, cushioned handles, etc.  The auger blade may have upgraded paint or something too.

You can get legends with either motor, so if you're talking about a legend 3hp tecumseh vs. a model 30 tecumseh, it's basically the same thing with a few bells and whistles.  They now make legends with 3500 (model 31) and 2500 (model 77) series motors, each of which correspond with model 30 and 70 augers.

If your auger runs well, why trade it??  The only upgrade might be cushion grip handles which I don't think all 30s have, but mine does.
