Too early for a shanty?
« on: Jan 07, 2012, 02:16 PM »
Just wondering if anyone's got their shantys out yet? We are thinking of hauling ours up to dillenbeck tomorrow, but it seems like not many shanties are out yet. What's everyone's opinion?

8" of ice at Dillenback. Fished there this morning, bite was slow, however someone had a little red Honda car out there about 100 yards from the boat launch and several had ATV's. Plus, one of the trucks carrying an ATV drove out on the ice to retrieve his quad...I'd say shanty time...

Was going to have mine put on today but some certain supposed helpers of mine bailed and wanted to do it tonight, and have now decided not to give me a hand until the morning!  >:(  >:(  >:(

there was a bunch of guys out on chittenden res today driving 4 wheelers around on 4 inches of ice. seems a little bit crazy to me. also there are some spots out there that are very sketchy. the ice started cracking under me at one point and i drilled a hole, only to find there was maybe 2 inches of ice. scary! be careful guys!
