Long Lake / Oneida County
« on: Jan 06, 2012, 11:30 AM »
My daughter went to camp on Long Lake in Oneida County this summer.  It's a beautiful lake.  I was wondering if anyone had any information on the fishing the lake and ice conditions?

I'm not sure but I think the lake is owned by the Masonic Camp up that way If it's the one behind White Lake. My inlaws have a hunting camp that boarders there property and there pretty strict on who gets on there land. Last I knew they had a fulltime person living at the Camp ground but I could be mistaken on the body of water

Yes, it's the lake right behind White Lake.  There is a state parking area and access site.  There are a handful of private camps on the lake.  My daughter went to Camp Nazareth on the south end of the lake.  The Masonic Camp is west of the lake, but they may own land on the western shore.  They do own a lot of land back in there, but I don't believe they own this lake.

If there's camps on there then they dont, I might be thinking they own the small lake to the north of long lake. I know they do some lake on there land as I've got kicked off it before fishing in the spring. Good luck if you hit long lake

There is state access about half way up the lake. I hear that Little Long has got some crappie in it. Never fished it on hard water, but it is worth a shot this year.
