Last trip of 2011
« on: Dec 30, 2011, 02:41 PM »
This was my last trip of the year, and the winds were 60+mph, but my son (he's 7) and I managed to keep the shanty up to catch one fish. Right when we pulled the rainbow out, it laid eggs all over the ice and my son thought it was bleeding lol  :P. Spawning time is soon approaching, looks like the fish will be hungry again soon. Ice was 9" thick at a the local lake in Cheyenne. Fish was hefty and measured 18" in length, and was released. The last pic shows the trees being bent from the insane wind yesterday. Here's looking to a good 2012!  ;D

"Of course our rods are short, it's freezing out here!"

You toughed it out and it paid off.Way to go
There is nothing better than the smile on a childs face when they see the fish come up through the hole.
