Pickup Truck through ice at cascade
« on: Dec 27, 2011, 05:41 PM »
Anyone hear about the small pickup that went through the ice at Cascade on Dec 26th?  Story I got, it was a local resident.  By the looks of the photo it appears to be on the South end of the resevoir. Don't know much more.  Got this from one of the locals at Cascade.  Don't know if driver made it out or not, but the entire cab was under water, only the topper (Camper Shell) and tail end of the truck was sticking out almost vertical of the icehole.

Does anyone else see what I see in that pic? LOL, Maybe Im nuts, but I have a pickup with a topper sitting out back. If I cut  the cab off and take the glass out of the topper it would be a sweet shack,LOL.

Hey Stumper. It would only be a "One Holer" and you'd probally need the helo to pack it in and out for ya! Ha. I betcha this guy paid dearly out of his beer fund for this adventure. Oh well who said Christmas has to be merry anyways. On a more serious note...Everyone be carful not foolish out there. I will still bring my atv out but will stay away from the heaves. I went over one about three years ago near Sugarloaf, I was going fast enough where I cleared the opening, but man it was scary when the water came up and splashed my brother who was riding on back. Never again :o.

Was that today they took that car out, I was at the Sugarloaf campground today fishing and saw some chopper activity over by the island, but couldn't see what was happening because of the hill in the way.  That is the same helicopter I saw though, because it flew over us as it headed to Cascade after it was done doing whatever it was doing.

The important question is....Did you catch anything waiting on the chopper?

Damn  :o.  That sucks!  Crazy, that is why I have never taken a vehicle on the ice.  Guess I am wuss when it comes to that.  Good luck to everyone, be safe!
