techumcie strike master?
« on: Feb 22, 2012, 05:43 PM »
I was at a buddys place that he just bought and he had an old barn. So I went to check it out and see what relics I could find in there. And I found a strike master power head. I went out and got flighting for it and took all the old gas out of it. It ran and everything, but for some reason it doesn't spin to fast. It also seems like it doesn't have to much power for a 49cc techumcie engine. Would there be anything wrong with it? Or could I possibly do something to make it proform better?

I have the 85cc barracuda plus with a techumseh power head, great auger but for 85 cc it doesn't cut any faster than the new 50cc eskimo's, but it sounds way better!

What are you comparing it too auger speed wise? The Strikemasters always did turn slower than the Jiffys. It has to do with the amount of reduction on the gearbox.

Ya I was compairing it to my dads old jiffy. But it seems like it's bogging out. Is there anything I can do to make it bogg less?

That carb is adjustable.
