Flasher Battery ?
« on: Dec 10, 2011, 08:24 AM »
Hello ice fishing comrades. Living here in the UP it can sometimes be difficult to have at our access things others take for granted, so we rely on each other for help. I'm in need of a flasher battery for my LX-5. Does anyone know of anywhere in the escanaba/gladstone area that stocks them? How about a good place to buy one on line? Iv'e twice driven from Gladstone to Gander mtn only to have them not have any after calling ahead and being told they did. Thank you for any help, it's making ice fast!

thats gander for ya... they have 12 volt batts in the hunting section that are for trail cams, connections are the same as the flasher. i think their 12V 7Ah batts for around 20-25$ i think, they should be the same as flasher batts. call there again and ask them to go look there. they were by the cover scents. try calling bay view bait and tackle also.

I don't think your lx5 takes a different battery than my vx1. Every time I've been in gander since probably October they have had flasher batteries.

Auto parts stores carry them as well. Got mine at NAPA for around $20 - 25 (been awhile so don't remember exactly)

I am pretty sure gander carries flasher batteries all season long. They have 9ah or 7ah in the 25 to 30 dollar range.. I picked up spare 9ah for my kayak to run my fishfinder, nice to have a spare for the  flasher in the winter to for me or a buddy

I used to work at a Gander Mountain. They have so few employees that they probably didn't even look when they told you that they had them.  They used to do store to store transfers, ask about that.

Thank you all for taking time to reply to my question. I have ordered one from a sponser on this site and also plan on checking at tractor supply in esky for a spare.

I know our Ace Hardware in town carries them, might be worth checking hardware stores next time it happens.

Say what one will about Gander Mountain but there's a guy at the store in MQT that knows his stuff.  Think he posts here on this board as well.

I totally gave up on Gander Mountain in Mqt. They hire young college students that know nothing about what they sell. Their prices are way out of wack locally, Wilderness sports in Ishpeming has them beat all the way around. I had a ws1 20 gauge in super condition with extra 26" solid rib barrel I took to GM for giggles and asked what they would give me trade in. They had 3 guys look at it and told me it was just a model 12 winchester 20 gauge and best they could do was 200 trade. What a joke. Heard lots of other stories about them    all bad. Since they "downsized" their reloading stuff, I no longer trade there. Oh, I traded the ws1 at Merriman gunshow for 1400, Go figure.   Steve
