I think it was 4 or 5 years ago I went to buy a gas auger at Gander Mountain, and the guy selling it told me none of the ice fishing equipment was selling because it didn't look like we were going to have ice. Well I bought it anyway, and within a week or so I was fishing. That was a week after New Years so I'm going to stay optimistic, this year I'm buying a showdown so with any luck it all I will get to use it.

Its still 2 weeks before xmas guys...I know we've been spoiled the last couple years but lots of time and the waters are ready...one good cold snap and they'll lock up tight...I'm just worried about the mad dash on the first cry of ice...gonna grab some popcorn for the 6 o'clock news :o

I took this coming Monday off from work in hopes of getting on something somewhere.
I'm safely optimistic. ;D

the next 10 days don't look good high temps of 35, 46, 42, 52, 45, 44, 40, 40, 39... looks like no ice will be made in the next 10 days :-( at least the low temps in the last 3 are in the 20's it's something to look forward to. Where is the cold?

No ice in PA.and it doesn't look good 3-4 days of rain moving in with above freezing temps. I'll  have time to flintlock hunt in Pa. and may buy another Ohio deer tag to pass the time,this Elnino winter blows. A few years back had the same deal on the ice before Xmas then it melted and refroze the 1st week of March.
