Guys were fishing the north end again yesterday morning. No idea how much ice they are fishing on but for those itching for some smelt you should be in great shape. Its gonna be cold up there tonight!

Don't think there will be any safe ice there this season at all.

any idea if it was taken on a smelt? there are some nice trout in there for sure but i think they are so keyed in on the smelt that shiners there just dont produce.

I've had luck on shiners and no luck on smelt. They'll eat whatever is a easy meal. Try powerbait 2' under the ice.

Hoppy, smelt will work if the brownies are there and hungry. Try them just under the surface (5' down or so).

Yep, been there. When I go it's early morning and leave early and not on weekends. Had the boat out already on the lake also.

I do good up there. Early spring and late fall till the ice keeps me off the lake.
