Auger Modification Tip - Quick Disconnect Pin
« on: Dec 04, 2011, 07:51 PM »
Last year I purchased a new Eskimo Z51 and didn’t like the fact that I had to remove the auger collar bolt with an allen wrench every time I was fishing.  After almost losing the bolt in the snow I figured it was time I rigged something up that would be easier.   Check out the video for the modification.

thats a good idea. i did similar. i used a pin w/ the flat head on 1 side. i drilled a small hole at the other end and put one of those clip coter pins in it. one quick pull of the pin and the main pin is free to come out. both ways will work. mine is just long enough to cilp the cotter pin on. it doesnt stick out  barely at all.

Nice mod.
Painfully clean shop, I'm jealous.

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

Very nice. I might do this but with a spring loaded pin that'll hug the auger so it won't rattle. Like this, but longer and beefier....  http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/112191273/tube_linch_pin.jpg

I have some for my ladder stand, and they latch on nice and tight.

Got the same auger and might have to do that this week sometime. Thanks for the Video.
