called the dnr yesterday and asked if there would be an ice season this year. NOPE! i ask why and they said the ice conditions and actual hours of ice fishing do not equal out to justify the cost of labor. not a budget cut! i have fished that place for years until the last couple its been closed for ice season. wonder who made that money saving decision? met guys on ice shanty who fished with me there!went to lake sue this summer and was allowed 30 gills. thats a big change, but i'd rather ice fish it!
i have enjoyed alot of things in life, but none as much as ice fishing!

Ya, not happy about that either. We pay for our fishing licenses like everyone else but its not worth it for the state to allow us to ice fish on these lakes.

I live across road from la sue Ann  my great grand father helped dig the lakes. try fishing Mel and yes it would be nice to ice fish them again.  And i wish they would make them bow hunting only then have a lottery for gun hunting.   ::)
