Quartz Lake
« on: Nov 12, 2011, 07:02 PM »
Spent Veterans Day fishing Quartz with two other Veterans. Fishing was slow at best but the fish that were caught went up to twenty inches. Ice was about 6 1/2 inches where we were fishing. I caught all my fish on jigs. All fished released to fight another day. Might have to hit it again Sunday.

All the fish battled hard. Saw some bigger ones cruising by but could not get them to hit.

Maybe because I fished it a time or two eh....  You know you could at least try to come up to AK and fish it to check one off the "bucket list" ol' grumpy pants!?  ;D ;D

Well, well! I'm delighted to see that you are still able to be up and take nourishment BD! ;D If it were at all possible and I did have a "bucket list", Quartz Lake would be first on the list! After I had spent enough time at your place, giving you a lot of flak! First though, I have to watch the Viking's beat the snot out of the Packer's tonight! :woot:  :laugh:DIRTBALL2 ;)

So I made a "slight" overstatement! BFD! ;D I have to admit that Rodgers looked awesome. He reminded me of Farve except Rodgers doesn't throw interception's! Is the ice thick enough on Quartz Lake yet Jim? Man how I would love to go ice fishing there! We haven't even started making ice down here on Lake of the Woods yet. It was down to 12F this morning so it won't be too long now. Here's wishing you and that lovely family of your's a Happy Thanksgiving! Your Friend, Keith aka:DB2 ;)

Thanks Buddy!  I am a little worried about this whole going undefeated thing!  I have yet to fish on Quartz this year.  I have gotten out 4 times and did ok so far...  It's been so dang cold up here this past week, I don't think any of us in the Interior will do much for fishing!  You and your family have a great Thanksgiving and hopefully you get out and have a good time at deer camp too eh!

Wow them are some great fish hope to hook into a few this year myself.......I love the look of shock and awww from people around here when you dump a big fish back in the lake....It seems everyone around  here needs to have wall mounts of big  fish   just not my thing....One time this little kid called me a F%^$%#ing  looser right in front of his dad. My dad would have beat me dead with the guys  jig pole who i  just insulted if i ever had  done that...

I will live my life with the cards i have been dealt. When that final day comes that I'm to weak to grin. I will push the dealer all my chips  cause its all or nothing and I'm all in ...
