1st trip of the year
« on: Jan 20, 2005, 05:37 PM »
Awesome 1st day in the berks last Sunday.  Ran through 4 dozen shiners on 10 traps.  There would have been more pics, but my camera froze up  ::)

Nice fish. Are the bass as aggressive during winter as they are in the open water season???
Enjoy life now!!!! Get on the Hardwater before it melts away!!!

Not as aggressive as during spawn, but they rip line off line a freight train.  One of the 4 pounders had my trap dancing a jig in the hole.  Ran off about 20-30 yards in about 30-45 sec.

Pickerel hit hard too..but then tend to run a bit, stop for a few secs, then take off like a bat out of He**! ;D

I am heading back out nexy Sunday..this Sun sounds like we are getting a blizzard on sat/sun.  they are calling for 12-15 inches!!!  >:(

LOL...thanks!  ;D

I am hoping to repeat it next weekend.  That day started off pretty nice...the pics of me w/no hat and my overalls unzipped was just after sun-up.  By 3 pm I was a block of ice!  The only parts of me that were warm were my feet!  I bought new boots for this season, and they work well!

Just bought a jig rod today too!  Can't wait to try it out.  I usually just use traps, but I figure I can use a jig when it gets slow.  I will report how it goes next Monday!
