Can you run a SM lazer hand auger on A SM power head?

I finally pulled the trigger and got a power auger. I got a Strikemaster mag 2 horse, the one with the chipper blade. My local bait shop gave me a decent deal and I was gonna do it anyway so why not support a local business. But as I looked at it it would seem that the part that where the head attaches is the same on the power auger and the hand augers. So could I put my SM lazer hand augers on there too? Thanks.

My hand Strikemaster augers have a input shaft size of .710" diameter and the power augers have a output shaft of .875".  Not even close.
I'm sure a adapter could be made if you have a machinist friend.

You just have to make sure the auger has enough strength at the blade attachment area, otherwise you will bend the cutter assembly and potentially ruin your auger.

Not sure what your lookin for but check flea bay, sell just the auger, not power head, on there. There is the 4 blade Strikemaster auger on right now for $100. I saw a guy with one of them last year, 22' of ice and he went through it like it was 5"s. Blades would be spendy when you have to replace but wow did it cut!

ice gator makes an adapter to run a hand auger on the strikemaster heads. Both the Icegator and Strikmaster heads have the same output shaft size, check it out......
