Dawg bone tipups
« on: Jan 06, 2013, 06:48 AM »
Last season I bought some Frabill Dawgbone tipups great small light tipup for perch loved them.    I stored them in my shed for the summer and got them out yesterday.   OMG they will hardly turn it would take a whale to trip the flag.   No big deal I tore them down and polished the shafts and that seems to have taken care of that ,  question is what does one use for lube on the bearing area needs to be tempture resistant and water proof?   Just wondering what others are doing

bought these also last yr.. compact,, but stiff too... took em apart and lubed... kinds skeptical about design,, no  spring to adjust spool tension... that woulda been a nice feature.(like alot of others have),, but time will tell ... like the design,, not sure about quality of components.....ice spider seems to be good compact design also...
