Is the right side the handle to hold it so you can rest it on your leg and bounce jig it like you do with the standard rods ? I'm not sure, but the body of it looks like Carbon fiber ?

Very nice. Waterjet cut carbon fiber? I've seen similar looking versions of a standard rod with wire. The wire legs were used to wrap the line around quickly like if your going hole to hole. At least thats what I assumed that is what it is for. Does a spring bobber get attached to it?

Looks like an echo weed whacker head on a mora...If I could figure out how to reduce the gearing i would definitely try to make one

Yes i made it. It has a gear reduction power head and a custom made coupling.
