« on: Sep 25, 2011, 11:28 AM »
Need information for nearest airport to fly into. Also motels and hotels in nearby area. If any group is meeting in one place let me know. If I fly in thursday is there any way I could fish on friday before the show? Wife bought the ticket and said just go.

Mpls.-St. Paul airport is the only one you can fly into. There are tons of motels/hotels in that area. I suggest ya just do the "Google" for motels near airport. Be real iffy on the ice situation the 1st week in December...quite doubtful. A group of us are planning to meet at the Ice Shanty booth...as it gets closer, we will have more info postings.
Hope to see ya there!!! ;D

Hope you have a great time.  We went last year and had a blast.  Only advice I can give is make sure you walk the entire show before buying anything.  I found prices for the same item varied widely from booth to booth.

Like Rebelss said do a search online to find the best deal.  There are many around the airport that you can take a shuttle to.  Plus you have the MOA and the Waterpark of America if your wife/kids go, it's all right there.  Downtown St. Paul isn't too far either and won't be too much for a cab ride, heck they might even shuttle you from the hotel.  It's not that often that you get to ice fish that early, at least not anywhere near St. Paul.  It's been a weird year too so you might get lucky!

Is Ice Shanty going to have a booth at the show? I didn't see them registered with a spot on the exhibitor list on the website
