I was planning to fish a crappie pond back on the State Gale lands this weekend.

But based on a nearby development lake that is still iced over (I would not walk on it) - but hardly any open water, I doubt my target lake has enough open water to warrant a long hike in with a spinning rod.

If the river comes down by the weekend, I might try casting near the boat launch in Falls, that is a good muskie spot.
