Hey wish I still had my smelt shanty out I would invite you out.. I was hammering them all season long until I pulled my shanty off about 2 weeks ago because I merly got sick of smelt fishing, This season was one of my best that I can remember in about 5 years we were averaging at least 100 in 4 hours of an incoming tide, Last time I was fishing the bioligists came knocking and said I was doing better than river road and the bay combined I always fish in downtown exeter mainly because its close to my house and its not crazy and crouded like river road. One word of advice when fishing downtown is the Channel is very hard to find and its a weak current Ill recomend moving around alot and dont put your shack where the few others are because when my shack was out there I seamed to have the honey hole and the others werent really in the channel.
