Ice anchor drill attacment?
« on: Jan 22, 2011, 11:51 AM »
Does anyone know if they make something like this? It would be nice not to have to screw the anchors into the ice by hand. I have looked around for one and haven't had any luck finding one. thanks

Clam makes one and it works ok better to pre drill holes and insert by hand

Take your cordless drill with you and predrill starter holes 2-3"deep then they finish nicely by hand and its alot cheaper than a fancy attachment.

I use the clam tool and I like it better than hand screwing them.  I learned to use the drill at low speed, they wouldn't go in and would just spin at high speed.  Also the tool only works with clam sized anchors.

Why not use ice climbing screws and you will only need...well nothing but your own hands.

Practice too, but the ice is often fragile and break it into pieces, it makes their installation more difficult
