sand lake in marshalltown, has anyone fished here in the winter i jus know of some structure around the boat ramp, any input would be a great help

Good luck there. Rumor has it they are catching huge perch but you know rumors. Been there 4 times for a total of 15 hrs and not got a fish at all :'(. If you make the trip I hear the best spot is east of the island. Let us know if you get anything.

I was there one day last week, can't remember what day :unsure:, but got blown off early afternoon and fishless :(.  I fished just off a jetty by the parking area in 18 FOW, with structure close by.  Marked fish and a few light hits - that's all.  On the way home, I stopped out at the Marshall County Conservation Board office, got a map, and talked to one of the county conservationist.  Very informative and would recommend the same to everyone.  Just cause I got skunked once, means nothing.  I'm going back for more.  Sounds like anyone ice fishing Sand needs to be cautious because of springs and even current on some of the smaller ponds.
