Nobody is answering cause they don't want anymore traffic on "their" lake. But I would say go a hour north by the Spooner/Hayward area and you will find as many good crappie/gill lakes as you need. Do you fish Wissota at all? I used to live over in Cadott and caught a lot of walleyes there in the winter. Good Luck!

Just saw the post.

What part of the state are you looking at fishing?

I travel across the state for most of January Ice fishing, so maybe I could help.

Need more info.

Yeah I fish somewhat not quite as much as last year but I've been out there and caught a few eyes nothing special though. But I mostly fish in Western part of the state.

Western part of the state:

Chippewa Falls area :  Lake Wissota, lots of walleye, catfish and good population of Crappie.
Black River Falls area:  Lake Arbutus.  Lots of fish period.  Good lake, but it will take you time to learn it.

Chippewa Flowage:  Lots of Walleye, Crappie, gills.
Lost Land and Teal Lakes,  very good population of pike, bass and crappie.

Hope this helps,

Wiener

Are you lookin for lots of fish, or big fish?  Its hard to get both on the same lake, anyway, Im from the chetek area lots of good lakes around me, but down by Chippewa i would try marshmiller in the early morning or late afternoon, also had good luck on rock and the one little one next to rock(13" crappies) with the steep landing that you have to walk down, cant think of the name.... Oh well if your up my way Prairie lake is hitting pretty good with nice gills, Potato is loaded with gills average 6 or 7"...

Have a good one

Okay thanks for the info. I heard that Rock lake is biting pretty good and the lake i think your talking is about it mud lake if I'm right. I'll probably head up to the Chetek around the beginning of March to do some fish when I got vacation.
