I'm in EG too.  Been going to Ray's Bait in Apponaug (across from Crows Nest) for years.  They open pretty early on the weekends still in the winter then you can hop on 95 at 117 to go to either end of the state.  Sometimes use Big Bear if going to Waterman.  Quaker Lane opens too late for us, we like to be set up by first light.

Are ericksons and johns open in the winter?

Ray's is nice little shop but they don't have much for LARGE baits when I went in the past.  Maybe I went the wrong day I will give it another shot.  Quaker lanes hours right now are pretty tough.

Thanks for the info on the shops in NW/W RI I will make sure to check them out when I head that way.

Teds is your best bet in NWRI,
I have been going there for bait for years and I MEAN YEARS!
Ray the son of Ted has been there for a long time once an avid fisherman himself he has penty of stories! :) OH and don't forget to ask him about his field trial champion labs especially one called High, Low, Jack... AKA Jack.
I was a loyal customer of Ted sence the 60's and have never stopped going there for bait.
Good luck you ice heads
See ya on the COLD Ice Steve

Ted's is on Reservoir Road in Pascoag, across from the Pascoag Reservoir.  No phone number.

Big O's in Smithfield is open too.Rt.105 (Farnum Pike 384) real nice bait and hearty but bring your wallet-$11.00 a dozen for med.heavies...I thought it was a bit steep.

It seems that with all the snow on the ice the bait shops aren't sure what to do. There's plenty of ice but its all covered up with sh!t.
