I'm from Highmore.

I think we are losing ground on this ice making weather......
I spent the day catching walleyes on the river near west bend in 72 degree weather!!!
On November 6th, somehow just doesn't seem right but it was nice to get out....

Hey Ice Dawg, I see your'e blowing smoke again, hehehe....  :roflmao:
Whatchoo talking about?  ;D Say hi to that fuzzy faced old coot that owns the baitshop in Highmore. I might have to come your way this winter, have a few toddies and drown some wax worms with you gents.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Born and raised western Nebraska farm kid, so into hunting and fishing by default ;) Spend summers wishing for winter to get here and spend all winter wishing for snow. Taking classes at Mines in Rapid now so I'm trying to fish the hills. The Black Hills are a far cry from my native Sandhills, appreciate any advice the other hills fishers have. :)  Mostly into panfish, but would like to get a few more walleye.

Just get a Vex and some of your favorite jigs and some live bait and head for the flats at any Hills lake. The perch are out roaming around now, so you just gotta shoot your Vex thru the ice until you find em.

For trout, just put out a few rods on holders tipped with your favorite bait.

Live outside of Renner.  I'm kinda a openwater walleye, hardwater panfish type of guy.  The mobility of ice fishing is what turned me on to it.  If Im not catching fish, Im moving.  Hoping for another great year, lots of places I want to try this season.  Good Luck to all and stay safe.

I sure will tell old Catfish Charlie you said Hi,  You know he is always looking for someone to go fishing with.

I was just kidding ya about no fish in your area, hehe.

I did run into your Brother down at Fort Thompson this summer when he was on his way back from Mobridge.

Hope you get a chance to do a lot of fishing this winter.....
Sometime hard water is a good thing..............

I've probably known ol Paddlefish Charlie for close to 35 years now. I would probably be on the ice today, but my grandson lives with us and has been sick all week. Sometimes it is just hard for me to get on the ice when I would like.

Wow! The West side of the state population has grown immensely in the last couple years! Rapid here too, Orman being my favorite lake, although it has not been worth a sh!t or I couldn't get out there the last couple years. SDSMT student as well, we might be forming our own faction? lol, hit deerfeild/stockade here and there and Sheridan for the tourney EVERy year!

Not enough ice or time... not necessarily in that order.
