Need Tipups! Anyone have a spare or two?
« on: Jan 07, 2011, 07:00 PM »
OK, so I realize that they are not that expensive but I am trying not to add more negative numbers to the checkbook and start this year off better than last year ended!  So if you have some nice tip ups in good condition that you don't need/use anymore please let me know.  I will even trade you for some information on where NOT to catch fish as I have a good wealth of this accumulated!  This offer won't last long so act now... :)

Thanks!

P.S.  I also have a one man folding shanty that I am trying to upgrade to a bigger folding shanty if anyone out there needs to downgrade.  It is a Frabill Recon in good condition.

lol.  You all are a kick.  Utah is too close; maybe if you lived another 1000 miles further south I would and then drop off everything to you and just go fishing for some sails and marlin.  As for the use of gear; we all know that each one of us has too much of something.  It is a simple fact of life.  So... It never hurts to ask.  Thanks anyways.  :)

Really shouldn't be too hard to make a couple from spare parts.  you can find instructions for home built tip ups/tip downs online.

Make a cross out of two pieces of wood( screw them together) and put two screws on the side of it sticking out of the wood a little bit to wind up your fishing line on. I know it sucks but hey if you don't want to spend any money that's your ticket.

It can be as simple as running line around a beer can.   Just put the can far enough from the hole where you can go grab it when you hear it skidding across the ice.

Reminds me of the time i spent the night on Mille Lacs lake in MN with no rattle reels....ended up tying a few busch light cans to the line, simple and effective!
The man banging on the door yelled "Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms"... I just assumed it was more supplies.
