« on: Dec 29, 2010, 04:30 PM »
Went up last week and did decent, picked up 20 in about a 4 hour stint.  5 rainbows one in the four pound range.  Looking forward to bringing in the new year on the lake as well

Can someone tell me where sunny side is? I don't see that on the map, found comers, and all the others but never see sunny side anywhere. Thanks.

Sunnyside is a little ways past Dentons towards Comers, look for a pullout on the right side of the road <1/4 mile past Dentons. My  bad, was on my way to Bozeman and thought of what I said. This is for Sunset Strip!!!!  ??? ???

For Sunny Side keep going from Dentons past Comers a mile or two and you will see Sunny Side on opposite side of bay.

There are about 5 other GTown threads, so there is A LOT more info in the other "original" threads. We fished Comers yesterday, got one salmon, and there were only two houses at Sunnyside.

no badger bay next one down . sunny side is just the other side of the bay from comers. where all the shacks are at and the trucks are parked in a straight line

fished Gtown yesterday from 7am to dark. Started at Sunny Side, there was a literal village on the ice there, caught 2 salmon (8-9in) and 1 trout (bout 2lb). Had lots of finicky bites no stop until 11am then shut down completely. Think the salmon were responsible for the wimpy bites. Seemed that everyone else was doin bout the same or worse. Moved to the pump house at 1:30ish and caught 9 more salmon(12-13in) that were in spawn mode. moved out further into the lake and caught 2 trout(11-12in) bout a half hour before dark and missed a few bites in that spot. All in all a good day and discovered a "new"salmon fishing technique for shallow water(3-8ft).
Must fish 300 days a year!!!

lol yes i was the stomach fisherman. that trick worked pretty well. think we could have iced as many as we wanted but the 10 or so we caught was enough. you must have been the guy that stopped on the highway and watched us for a bit eh?

That is the way most guys used to fish the salmon(usually dog salmon) in the shallows off the springs at the pumphouse.  I have to admit I have done the same in the past and it works good.  I haven't been on the ice yet but looks like I will crank up the auger this weekend.  Good luck and stay on top of the ice
