Moose Lake? Buffalo Bay????
« on: Jan 01, 2011, 01:46 PM »
Hey everyone, looking for some info on these two lakes. I've only fished Manitoba for 2 seasons now and want something new from Chalet. I've heard people fish moose lake and also buffalo bay. How's the bite been? Where abouts can you get onto these lakes? How deep are these two locations ? any info would be great :) :) :)  thanks a bunch. Hoping to get out on the ice tomorrow and Monday.

Moose has about one foot of ice  ( lot's of snow cover ) Buffalo Point has about one and a half feet of ice , not sure if they are going in through the docking area or somewhere else , but have heard that they are having some real good days .I was out there last year and we walked out about half a mile and had eighteen feet of water .Not sure how the whole area is for depth's but one could just follow the crowds .Birch Point , past Moose Lake ,  also about one and a half feet of ice and from my last report there are about eight shacks out on the sand bar ....5KM's out .Again I'm not sure how the trail in will be after this weather front pass's through .Best bet might be to call Moose lake and talk to Leonard at the store and he would have up to date info for you .

Must be Birch Point. I think 5km out on moose lake is about 0 feet deep.

5 KM's is the sand bar at Birch Point .You can see the shanty town if it's clear outside from the shore line . Good luck and let us know how you do

was going to head out to buffalo this morning. when i came outside i found someone had tryed to steal my quad right out of the back of my truck. they didnt even use the ramps. pushed it out of the back but the jerks couldnt get it started cause i left it in gear luckly. SO on that note i hit chalet cause i was running late after re-loading it back up. Got out to chalet to then find out they had cracked open the bottom of the quad and all the oil had leaked out all over the truck bed. Fished pretty close to the landing cause i couldnt use the quad... 1 saguer. what a horrible day.... looks like ill be walking the 5 miles to the sand bar now, or untill i fix this quad. Hopefully its nothing to bad. I shall let you guys know if i make it out to the lake or not Tomorrow. Im so upset i might just suck it up and walk out ahaha. crapy days

Kinda makes you want to crack something of theirs open >:(

I always tell my wife that we should sell her horses and buy a quad, a quad wouldn't need to be fed or run away, she just tells me that a quad would get stolen, shes probably right, no one is stupid enough to steal a horse.
