Lake Erie
« on: Jan 15, 2011, 09:55 PM »
Just let everybody know that I am going back up to Lake Erie this week with captain mike.  I had so much fun that I am heading back that way early next week.  When I talked to him to book, I found out he is running a January weekday special the next couple weeks.  You will fish for both Perch and Walleye for a 100 a man.  I like that.  Now instead of only fishing two days I am going to fish that third day for what I consider free.  Had a ton of fun last week catching those perch and walleye and being on the T.V. show.  If anybody else is going up there next week or interested let me know.  If you do come up make sure you say hi to me.  Look forward to meeting some of you.

Thats 100 per man per day....so 3 days is 300.00, not 100 for 3 days.

Airboat is 30 dollars each way.  You get lodging and full day of fishing for a hundred dollars.  That is how I understood it when I talked to Mike today.  I will be there from Tuesday to Friday.  It is hundred dollars a day so three hundred dollars for 3 days but regular price would be 300 for two days so that is what I was talking about.  I know it will be fun.

I think airplane is 45 dollars but I am not a big fan of airplanes so dont know for sure the price.  The airboat ride is different and neat.

No it isnt and you cant get out from the mainland right now.  Ice is no good where you need to go.  Let me know if you decide to go.  He has shantys so if you go with somebody else you can fish with that person.  Austen

I have been interested in ice fishing Erie eyes for years and haven't done the research to know where or what to do. How big of eyes do you catch.does captain mike run 7 days and is it more expensive on the weekend?
Feels so nice doing it through the ice

After reading the success stories, and seeing the pictures on here for the last couple of years, my son and I have booked Captain Mike for the end of this month. We are both pretty geeked up about it. Details are pretty much like Yogi posted with prices and stuff. We are doing the airboat thing (first for me also). I will try to post pictures when we return.   OGM

So u have to arrange the boats yourself? How ? ANd do they take all your gear, shanties, poles, elec, ect. Or does Mike provide all that stuff?
Where does he go out from? and where do you get to stay for the night?

Mike will set you up all the gear, if you want him to. (Except electronics and clothing) We will take the air boat out to the Bass islands and stay overnight there. Once you call Cap't. Mike, I'm sure he could answer all your ???s better than me. Hope this helps some. OGM

Mike provides all the rods and tackle and bait that you are going to need. You will have to take the airboat or airplane to get to the island. Mike will pick you up when you get to the island. The Airboat is a thirty dollar trip one way. Neat ride. Most people come in the pm and fish evening and stay the night and fish am. He has two cottages out here that you will stay at. I just got back out here today and fished an hour and caught about a 4 pounder. Check the website will answer questions and get information on specials. Austen

After looking at the ice I think you are still a good couple weeks from catawba and crane. Airboat captain was saying the same kind of stuff.
