I just fished it yesturday. We went out to Colter Bay and the fishing was pretty slow. There were 2 snowmobiles that went out (stayed close to shore) Most of the slush has seemed to freeze where we were. 6-9 inches of some pretty solid ice. Still use caution !!

Maybe somebody that knows about Jackson lake can riddle me this......i heard that you can't take just a regular ol snomobile to the lake. they said that it has to be the "best avaliable technology" (crock) and........what kind of fees is it to get into the park and how close can you drive to the lake?  ??? ??? ??? ???

Its hard to get a straight answer from park ranger, but it must be a four stroke, the last ranger i talked to said 2006 or newer four stroke. I would ask the ranger at the park gate.
The park fee in the winter is ten dollars per vehical, unless you bought the national park annual pass. If you go real early no one is at the gate, and they don't charge you on the way out. somtimes a nice ranger won't charge you anyway.
I recently heard they are considering lifting snowmobile restrictions on the lake for safty reasons, but as of now its not a crock, jackson has an envirmental inflouence.

i wouldn't suprise me at all. a group from jackson or cody (i can't remember) prooved that the new 2 strokes were cleaner than the 4 strokes. but the parks didn't listen to em. imagine that!  :woot:

Well sounds like you had better luck than me. Only landed 2 but had several hits as well as a few coming off half way up to the hole.
