I just want to remind the folks in the "warmer" ice fishing areas to use lots of caution on the ice. A lot of times the auger holes with the larger bores can remain open, or covered by a very thin crust of ice. This becomes very dangerous when drifted snow covers the hole. A small child can slip into one of these holes, or you could twist an ankle. It is kinda hard "giving away" a good fishing location, but I always freeze a twig in my holes when I am done for the day. Its better to lose a secret fishing hole to another angler, than it is to lose another angler to a secret fishing hole!
