Cost of mousees
« on: Dec 09, 2010, 04:22 AM »
Just got a call from Vados bait supply - $40 + shipping for a 1000 mousees.  Wow.  Guess I'll be sticking  with waxies and spikes this year.

At that price Id eat them myself.  Picked up some Berkley Alive Fish fry.  Cheaper and easier to keep.  Between them and the waxies/spikes I think Im covered.  Now all I need is some ice!

Gulp alive and spikes/waxies is all I am going to use. I get mine from JADA since they are closer to my and include shipping with their prices. no waiting for a shipping quote.

Thats exactly what I'm doing.  I'm just waiting for them to be delivered.  Ice is just forming, so it shouldn't be long now.

I switched to Gulp products because the price of live bait has gone up so much.  I think they work almost as good as live bait and they stay on the hook a lot longer, which means warmer hands. :)
A day without fishing is a day wasted.

A few years back one of the major growers had a mega disaster and lost basically the whole seasons "crop". Understand they are much more difficult to raise in the first place, not sure if they're doing them any more. Drifts into the supply and demand deal, they were a bit more expensive to begin with, now?

Depends how busy they are. The temps that we had might have stopped them from shipping.
Normally 1 week at most.

Go to your local pet stores. They feed that stuff to the reptiles. CHEAP!!!
If fishing was work I'd never be sick!
