I'm gonna drag my boat to Stockade tomorrow to catch some Snot-Rockets and get a water temp. If I fail to produce fish, then I will go to Deerfield for some Mountain Carp. I will get a temp there also.....

Water temp. at Pactola was 51 yesterday. They have some big pike in there too.On a100yd stretch of water by the shoreline we saw 8-10 big pike with the smallest going around 10lbs and the largest pushing 30lbs. We couldn't get any to bite, but we had fun watching them below us.They were fat too, kinda like green and slimy blimps with fins.

Did you  keep them at the correct temp? You might want to keep a thermometer in your bait fridge and check it 4-6 times a day for a day or 2. These smaller fridges vary temps greatly when they are  getting old Sometimes new. It may fluctuate 12F+ degrees which may explain the premature pupa state of your maggots. temperture is everything with the insect baits longevity.  Jada baits work well for me in the east. good luck with the ice and be safe.
