Ice Check - My Tour of the Kawarthas
« on: Dec 05, 2010, 09:10 AM »
Yesterday I got the change to take a look at a portion of pigeon lake, over the past few days it has seemed to ice up. If we keep the cold temps we could be a week or two away for fishable ice.

After finding some ice on Pigeon yesterday, I decided to take a trip to Chemonge today to see if there was any ice there... no such luck, open and choppy

I will be making a stop by Rice lake on my way out of town and will update later

As the temps continue to drop the lakes will continue to firm up. Thanks for the post and glimmer of hope. I'll check my little lakes next week.

Here are some pics of Rice lake from Bewdly, a bit of ice around the edges, but mostly open water.
