I'm just North of you and will be camping out this year if you don't find anyone down there.

My goal is to do it at least once this winter. I have a tent shack (old Cabelas tube frame) that I'll have, with maybe a small heater....
With the truck at the shore for a backup... ;D
Good luck.

You guys thinking about using bells or lights on the tip-ups?  I'm thinking bells but the wind makes me wonder if it'll work.

I'm stopping by a craft store this weekend to get bells. I'll try em out suring the day, and see if they work. I also picked uo a bunch of little glowsticks - I'll see how they work too.

I have bells on my traps. They work awesome during the day, and it's usually quieter at night. I'm planning on putting some reflective tape on my flags so I can shine a flashlight around and see which ones up when I hear the bell.

Reflective tape and bells may work, But once you have tried tip up lights you wont go back.. I have some frabill little shiner lights and they work Great !!   I just purchased some HT NightStar lights and I think they will work good too.
Problem with bells is that if you miss it when the flag first goes up, they are pretty much useless.  Reflective tape works, but I perfer to just look out the window and know if the flag is up or not.. You can not miss these lights...

I have been kicked off a couple of lakes here in MA by the police after dark. I don't know how it will be on those places.
Love those slab crappie, jumbo perch, and always love those bull sunfish. A.F.& A.M.
