Looking for big gills
« on: Nov 07, 2010, 09:07 AM »
Any recomendations on where to start looking for big gills around the quad cities area? I don't care if it's catch and release, I just want to show my son a good time. I heard Pleasant creek by Waterloo is a good spot, anyone fish it? ???

Should Check out Belva Deer A Friend Iced it quite a bit last year and had steady success for gills. Good sized lake, check out a lake map so you arent throwing darts to pick a spot. Never fished iced pleasant myself

Thanks for the info I heard alot about that lake. With the vexilars I don't throw darts anymore, I can't imagine fishing without them. Thank's again! :)

I would watch for safe ice on the Mississippi. Some of those areas have good ice fishing and good sizes.
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.
