Walleye Bigelow or Mashapaug
« on: Dec 06, 2010, 03:47 PM »
The ice probably isn't safe yet but maybe we can have a small get together on Bigelow or Mashapaug in a couple weeks? There's walleye in Mashapaug and some have wandered down to Bigelow which is in the same park. There might be better luck on Bigelow since Mashapuag likes to skunk people- though we'd be more likely to catch bass than walleye on Bigelow.

Hi guys,
New to the forum but not ice fishing..I'd be interested on how you make out in Bigelow. My buddy and I targed eyes a few times last year in Mashapaug and only managed a few small fish, did see one monster that was caught though. They are in there..I've only really jigged in bigelow and always do pretty good. My avatar is the back side of Bigelow at the end of Dec. a few years ago, this cold weather might do the trick.

One spring/summer I saw a big fish cruise by the shallows at Bigelow, I think it was a walleye. Bigelow/Mashapaug will probably be one of the first places I hit this year too. I'm planning on digging out my swedish pimples and other ice gear today if I can get myself to stop drooling over the Cabelas ice fishing catalog.
Wonder if the ice will be safe by the 19th, might be stuck on the edges though. I'm free Sundays through Wednesdays when I'm not grabbing overtime at work.
Awaiting your report  Metalfish. :)
