advertising space on IS?

anyone notice how much advertisement ads are on IS now? I know advertising helps pay for the site and operating expenses, but I browse the site using my PSP quite often. It's just that all those advertising images seem to take forever to load. Maybe with some of advertising money the admins make they could create a mobile version for us gadget guys.

I am on Iceshanty everyday now that I have a phone that I can keep track. I am new to the phone thing, but have not noticed the adds slowing me down. Pictures take a long time though. I use an I-phone nextel. I would say the problem will go away as soon as you get a newer setup.

well I expect the psp to be a bit slower. it's just that all the photo banners take time to load. I don't recall it taking so long to scroll past all the banners in the past, as it does now.

There is a "mobile" link at the bottom of the home page but it doesn't appear to work.  I just upgraded to an iPhone 4 and it works fine loading iceshanty.com.

When on the black berry it does not load the imagesfrom advertising so it is very quick. After so many years I embrace the volume of advertisers! I feel it is a good omen as a reflection of how many members we have. The possibilities are endless, Our sport can use all the publicity it can get I for one am happy and delighted to see so many sponsors and am looking forward to many more!

It's very funny to me that you posted this yesterday at 5:30PM. I spent a good part of yesterday afternoon compressing all the sponsor images, avatars, and other misc forum images; most of them are now ~50% of their previous size, so should load twice as fast for you on your phone now as they would have before about noon yesterday.

Of course, there is also the various mobile links that have been posted elsewhere in this thread.
