I got some of these thinking that it would be nice to have something already made but after I opened them I found out they are made on 20lb mono! Maybe 8 or 10 but not 20. For the most part I run 4lb mono so being that these are 20 it just doesn't seem to fit the situation. I think I can use the hardware but on 4lb line. Anybody have experience with these? Thanks.

I have seen guys use pre-made perch rigs before and wonder why they would use such a setup on the ice.  I would make your own using 2-4 test.  Or you could have a setup using a teardrop on the bottom with ice fly on the top.

I make my own and I use 6# test for Lake Erie becuz every once and awhile I get a double header of sow bellies. When you set the hook theres a fair amount of weight there.
Be safe out there, and set the iron.

That's a good thought. Also when you set the hook, the fish are not always going to go in the same direction and that will be more stress on the line also.

Buy some gold Aberdeen hooks or perch flies and learn to tie a Dropper Knot.

I use those rigs almost exclusively for perch and they work great as is. I also thought the line to be overkill but tried them anyway and had no worries. We quite often get doubles. I just hook a small bell sinker on the bottom and take it down till the sinker touches bottom, perfect setup
My kids are just not happy if I don't have the "2 slammers" for them.

This is the way to go. I've been using the dropper loop forever and I have never had a line break at the knot. It's the best way to run multiple jigs.

I use 4 lb mono and tie two hooks right to my line. I find the drooper loop has too much movement for the crappie and I miss a ton. I just tie my hooks facing up right to the line about 18" apart and the first on 6" off bottom with a bell sinker on the end. Works pretty good so far.
