chubby darter or lindy darter

Tried them both, neither is worth the price tag.  I would go lindy darter first.

I must be the only guy to catch fish with either Lindy or chubby.  It has become my first choice lure.  I have a variety of sizes smallest thru largest.  When I put the camera down - no fish on screen - I will flash a darter and the fish come in, The guys I fish and work with think I own stock in the company, I have done well perch,  pike.  I change the back hook out to a single on the smaller darters.  I have nothing but good to say about them.  Just my luck ma bey.

these lures have been hot in manitoba for a few years now. only problem with the chubby is it doesn't have a rattle like the darter. lots of guys use rat-l traps as well, sizes 5-8 seem to be the best. these lures don't work all the time but when they do look out.

jig and minnow

x2...seems like they're good for drawing fish in but not so much triggering the bite.  they have a time and a place but a jig/minnow is where i usually start.

They dont work every day but I've pulled out limit's of eye's a few times and well as some nice perch thanks to theses lures. The pike and dogfish like them too. The only thing that pisses me off about them in that your buying a 7-10$ lure and the hooks are pathetic. I immidiately replace the treble hooks on all my darters with red anodized eagle claw lazer sharp hooks. Every darter ive used with the factory treble's ive broken on its first outing, other than the hooks they seem to be a decent quality product.

I watched a guy beside me yesterday with a chubby darter. He was catching a walleye every few minutes. I was using a jig along with two other guys and we weren't getting a single bite. I'm on my way to by a couple today. Also save on bait as well.

Buy new treble's while your at it, the hooks on them are junk! When they work they work well but trust me you can spend all day jerking thoses things around with no luck if the fish arent biting aggressively, I prefer the salmo chubby's in shad colouring w/ red hooks.

Chubby Darters are the biggest thing on Lake Winnipeg. Lots of guys are using them. Also Ratlin Raps or Jigging Minnow.
