Maskethine isn't on the list of lakes that allows vehicles on the ice, therefore I'd bet that you cannot.  It's owned by Lower Elkhorn NRD, however, so you can inquire of them as to their rules of what is and isn't allowed.

Why do they have to delete every thread about the tournament?  Why not just delete the post that they don't like......    But no I don't beleive you can have ATV on the lake..

1.  Maskenthine is not listed as one of the lakes on NEGPC that you can operate an off highway vehicle on.

2.  C'mon, Maskenthine isn't THAT big....

3.  I found WAY DOWN DEEP in the how-to of this forum that a person must submit the tournament info to the forum moderator for approval before listing on the forum.  I have had two threads deleted about this tournament.  I'll admit, I've been to lazy to submit info to the mods and now the tourney is less than a week away.  not worth submitting it now.

It's ok I think the majority of the teams that are going to go all ready know about it.  Sounds like there should be a few more teams this year.  It's gonna be a good time. ;D

Even if you could use ATV's on Maskenthine, I doubt very much if they would allow them for the tourney.  That lake is too small for 20 four wheelers to go screaming from one spot.

pre fished today and wouldn't you know, one old boy had his quad out there.  Lots of guys getting a feel for the lake.  As for my wife and I, we caught many bluegill and spotted one pike.  I think whoever is lucky enough to land just one pike will take the tourney.

What did you catch those pike on?  I was fishing not that far from ya and I couldn't get nothing but gills to bite.   we were fishing in 17 foot of water, you walked by me, I was out fishing around that stump trying to stir up a bass.  I should of walked to the other side of the lake where i prefished, i didn't know we started at the swimming beach I fished at the other end but did get into some bass and crappie.

you didnt use any type of bait just the plain lure?   I threw everything I had in the water that day trying to drum somthing other than gills.  I used swedish pimple with minnow with just the head, rapala jiggin rap, tear drops with waxies and minnow heads, lure with chain on it with minnow head and whole minnow.   I didn't try my frostie jigs but I don't have that much luck with those.   Overall it was a good time for my first tournament I would definately go for another one.  How are you guys finding out about these tournaments?  I look on the game and parks website and they don't really have any ice tournaments on there.   I heard there is a tournament at willow creek this weekend?

Is it the Pierce jaycees that are putting it on, or a private type deal.  I fished Willow Creek as a kid.  Must have been 15 years ago.  They havent had that one for a while and I've heard nothing of it.

maskenthine tourney results   1st Spark/Schneider (Lincoln)  17+lbs.    2nd Hanson/Williby (Bradshaw,Grand Island) 9+lbs.  3rd  Fish-Icr/EW (Lincoln) 8+lbs.   4th and 6th were taken by Norfolk teams.  5th Brennan/Brennan (Omaha).  Lake was overrun by 7 inch and smaller gills.  You had to fight through them to get the larger gills.  Or find some of the few crappies in the lake which were sizably larger than the gills to get in the money.  Or catch a 9lb 10 3/4 oz pike right away away and sit back and laugh while everyone else fishes their butts off for 2nd.   Congratulations Spark.  I will have a listing of the stomach contents of said pike this evening.

Honest mistake Icr.  Its Mark Schneider.  Mark would put Rob on a piece of toast and eat him for breakfast.

Need my forage minnow back out of his mouth to or fish_icer is gonna have to explain to his work why they come up one short at inventory.   And I think Rob Schneider would out fish Mark any day.  And that pike was just a whole lot of dumb luck.  Either way with him or with out us 3 teams would have still been 1, 2, & 3 just in a little diffferent order.

Im betting its contents is bluegill, bluegill and more gill.........  That lake is full of them, I think only one other team even had a pike on the hook that day I heard them talking about it....   I wonder why game and parks don't stock walleye in that lake?  I know there in there but obviously in small number, they keep willow stocked with a million a year but cant do any for anywhere else.     I don't know anything about the tournament at willow I just heard there was a tournament, I searched the internet and came up with nothing.....

Congratulations on the top placings everyone.

Fish-icer you're getting mighty consistent on NE leader boards. You ever think about trying some out of state ice tourneys?

 @)

They have plenty of snow in Aberdeen again this year.  Might need a snowmobile.
Some of the guys did alright walking last year but they knew where the cribs were off the launch. Let me know if you decide to go.
